He is the Senior Pastor of Christ Church Memphis, TN-- a congregation committed to sharing God's love, truth and grace through the four Biblical anchors of prayer, teaching, small groups, and serving. Their mission is to ‘bring glory to God by making, maturing and mobilizing disciples of Jesus Christ by loving Jesus and loving like Jesus in the world’.
He is also the co-host of "We Believe in Memphis", a 30 minute interview, TV program at the crossroads of faith and everyday issues. And, Dr. Stanford is the teacher/host of You Matter, a weekly 30 minute teaching program that dives deeply into God’s Word for wisdom and practical instruction for life.

However, if you ask Shane, he will tell you the most important job in his life is being a husband and father. Shane is married to Dr. Pokey Stanford. Together, Shane and Pokey oversee ‘You Matter Ministry’ and also their educational and church consulting firm, Strategic Learning and Leadership Initiatives, LLC.
They are the parents of three daughters, Sarai Grace, Juli Anna and Emma Leigh. Sarai Grace will marry Mr. Wesley Smith in January and they will reside in Orlando, FL. Juli Anna is a sophomore in the Haslam Scholars Program at the University of TN-Knoxville. And, Emma Leigh is a 10th grade student in Germantown, TN,
